"I tried a hostel for the first time and honestly, it couldn’t have been better. I went in a little sceptical, but a close friend strongly recommended this place—and it completely lived up to (and surpassed) my expectations. The property itself is stunning, perfectly located (a walkable radius from most important landmarks), with a rooftop view that’s hard to beat. But what really made the experience was the vibe—there’s such a natural sense of community here that just pulls you in. What I loved and will miss the most were the owners and staff, who are easily some of the warmest, most genuine people I met on this trip. Somehow managed to feel like I’d known them for ages by the time I left. Left with a full heart and would 100% want to stay here again."

"This is a very nice hostel with extremely nice staff members and very comfortable beds. I was quite fortunate that I had an entire room to myself due to my visit being in January (the quiet season). The common is also very nice and the beach is very close by. Overall, this hostel is excellent value for money!"

While it is great that this hostel is right next to the beach, it is a little bit of a walk from the main train station (around 20 minutes). It also gets a little confusing when it comes to how to get to the hostel when crossing the bridge. These are only minor things but worth mentioning, especially if you are walking from the main train station.

"Very chilled hostel, small and compact. Very clean with constant cleaning of bathrooms and kitchen. 10 min walk to castle and coast."

Dorms are by the main road and very noisy with traffic so hard to sleep. Creaky floorboards also.

Meget lidt plads i køkkenet når der kommer grupper á 15 der skal spise på samme tid - der er borde til 16 og vinduespladser til ca 8 Max Meget varmt i køkkenet Ingen varm vand til opvask de første 2 dage Personalet kunne godt være mere smilende og eksempelvis sige godmorgen, hej eller andet når man mødte dem Værelses uden bad på værelset - beskidte/våde toiletter, da der var bad og toilet i samme rum Der lå beskidte håndklæder på de fælles bad/toilet

My room was very cold. Even though the landlady turned on the heater earlier than she said she would, it still didn't help much.

"Welcoming host, good condition of the rooms and bathroom. It felt safe to walk around in the Neighbourhood (during daytime), people seemed friendly and interested. Note that it is not a touristy area, what makes the experience of visiting Praia more authentic."

"Vi havde et skønt ophold på Yubarta Lodge. Cecilia er en sød og hjælpsom vært, som er meget opmærksom på gæsterne. Stedet har en skøn pool, og en dejlig stor have med cikader og fuglesang. Vi havde endda selskab af en stor flok røde ara papegøjer i et træ tæt på haven. Der er et velfungerende køkken med alt udstyr og køleskab. Vi nød beliggenheden med gå afstand til stranden og nationalparken. Prisen på værelserne er rigtig god. Vi nød også vandautomaten med frisk koldt vand."

If you want a beach holiday it's a little far but if you enjoy the cultural aspects it's a perfect spot. Just a little uphill.

"Kelly and his family are amazing hosts. We feel in family! :-) Kelly is so helpful and talkative, always able to give suggestions and help finding activities to do, contacts, etc. His son, Junior, went with us to many places and activities and we fell him like a younger brother! :-) All the family made us feel welcome and at "home far from home". Installations are simple, but in a nice location, in the countryside, quite and friendly place, not far from Goroka center/easy bus connections but we have everything we needed, even to cook our meals. If you want a simple and family place to stay, with someone who will help you around, this is the place! If once I go back PNG and Goroka, I'll stay here again! :-) Thanks Kelly, Junior and family! Hope to see you again!"

It's normal to have light and water cuts. But it's common in the region/general problem and not from the place.

"MyFarm is not just a place to sleep. It is a vibrant place full of life. You wake up from the sound of beautiful birds in the morning, you can join the MyFarm team for breakfast and talk about their daily life here. All the staff is super nice and accommodating. It's amazing to be inside such a wonderful place that gives out free education to the people who live around here. I ended up helping out in the different educational programs and I loved every moment of it. I thought I just went for a cheap place to stay that was also social, but I got so much more. I will definitely come back as a volunteer to the project."
