"Our stay at Villa Mar Azul was excellent. The accommodation was extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean, and very quiet, perfect for a relaxing break. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and efficient, making us feel right at home. Although the property is about 1.4 miles from the city centre, we really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, and it’s only a pleasant 10 minute stroll to the beach. Overall, an excellent experience and we look forward to staying here again."

For those renting a car to explore the Algarve, the hotel’s parking facilities are a huge plus. There is honestly nothing negative to mention. "Their main office is on a different site but you can call. However, It would be nice to know that beforehand. We wanted to extend our stay, spoke to customer service and agreed the extension and were told we can go anytime before our check-out time to make the payment. We then got a call in the morning just and were told that they had not secured the booking and someone else has also booked the accommodation and had to leave. This meant that we had to change our activities, find alternative accommodation which cost us double the amount as it was for the same day etc. They also offered us to move to another property on another site which cost significantly more. That ruined a good stay and left us really disappointed and"

The kitchen was well-equipped with utensils and cabinetry, but lacked essentials such as coffee or basic spices for a short stay. Parking was supposed to be reserved for hotel guests, but it was always full, and we had to park outside the property."

It took us about 25 minutes to walk to Old Town, so it was a very quiet area. Lovely little coffee shop about 2-3 minute walk away and supermarket about 15 mins. Staff were exceptional."

"The villa is not really walking distance to Lagos. Uber is only £4.50 so not an issue. However, the nearest shop is about a 20mins walk so getting supplies has to be planned out."
