"I just loved the concept of tipi in the forest. Very clean camping area, big forest surrounding the campground, lots of birds and of course the lovely semois by my feet. It’s also a family camping so as a solo traveler you feel pretty safe."

The “insolite” part, you aren’t quite insolite, other tipis were in use by families with children running around and shouting. This was a bit tiring since I hoped to be in a calmer area. But you manage, I was out hiking the whole day and at night I set up my bbq while the kids slept. Only early mornings were hard - at the same time the birds were as loud as the kids 😂

Bl.a mulighed for at se tapir (som vi desværre missede), fer de lance slanger og andre krybdyr, invertebrater samt ufattelig mange fuglearter. Elmer og hans frivillige sørgede godt for os bl.a med hans unikke passion for at lave mad og viden om området, der ligger nær Cordovado nationalpark. Stedet kan i høj grad anbefales, hvis man vil mærke den vilde regnskov tæt på!"

If you are sensitive to cigarette smoke this would not be your best option.

On Weekends it gets quite loud at the pool area as it is open to foreigners and restaurant guets in general.

"We had a great stay at Moonys! Fernando is an amazing host who made everything possible. He even picked us up or organized transport when we needed it. We immediatly felt more like family than guests. The chalet is a beautiful place: clean and neat, and in the middle of nowhere. It is very quiet and a perfect place to relax."

There's nothing we didnt like. However you should consider transport: if you dont come with your own car, you depend on Fernando and you need to count in money, time and organization for commuting to wherever you wanna go. Taxis might not go all the way up to the chalet because its a dirt road. There's no supermarkets or restaurants close enough to walk to.
