"We had a private room in a bit older building of the hostel, but it was a large room, with a good, big bed and a perfect shower (even a rain shower!). Wifi worked very well. There are a couple of common rooms which you can also use, even if you have booked a private room. That's very nice in the evening. It's nice that the breakfast includes fresh fruit. Regarding the price, the stay is absolutely good value for money. But what really makes Negrita Hostel the absolutely perfect stay is owner Camillo: he is very friendly, attentive and gave us a lot of information: restaurants in the area, but also in Punta del Este and even on the way to Montevideo. Also good information about museums, sights, things to do,... I would absolutely stay in Negrita Hostel again if I would travel to the region again."
"If you really want to stay in the centre of Punta del Este, this is not the place for you, as Negrita Hostel is located in La Barra. We knew that upfront of course (we booked relatively late and we didn't find any (affordable) hotels anymore in Punta del Este) and as it turned out, we were actually happy that we didn't stay in Punta del Este, we enjoyed La Barra more in the evening."
"The staff were amazing, super friendly and generous with recommendations and time for a casual chat. The hostel was quiet as I was there outside of the main season but it felt really cosy because of that; I was also upgraded to a better room which was very kind. The location was fantastic, right next to a supermarket, beach, restaurants, cafes and shops. It also felt really safe. La Barra is a really cute area, I'd love to come back again and stay at Negrita. Thanks so much!"

"Experiencia hermosa ,los chicos que trabajan en el hostel son super buena vibra july ,Damián y otros chic@s te hacen sentir que estás en el lugar indicado . Ubicación muy cerca de todo en exclusivo de la playa y lugares para cenar aunque en el hostel tiene muy rica comida . Piscina climatizada, mucho verde . Buena higiene todo el tiempo ,cuentan con lavandería y juegos por si llueve . Super recomiendo no te podes perder la experiencia de conocer NEGRITA HOSTEL ..."

"Es el tercer Hostel que voy en punta del este y sin duda es el mejor, súper ordenado y limpio. La ubicación es muy buena y la relación calidad-precio es impecable. Las habitaciones son muy amplias y y el personal es impecable. Hay mucha variedad de tragos y comida, el desayuno muy bueno. Literalmente está una cuadra de la playa, super linda, además que tiene todo lo que necesitas cerca, farmacias, supermercados, freshmarket, plazas, restaurantes, etc."
"Lo único que podría decir es sobre la ubicación, no está en la parte céntrica de punta del este pero realmente no es un problema si te tomas un bus o vas en auto."

"Pros - staff were friendly, location was good, bed comfortable and breakfast was plentiful. The kitchen was large with 2 fridges for guests and there's a good grocery at the end of the road.. Pool was fairly clean. Lots of hammocks and both indoor and outdoor seating."
"Cons - wow the mosquitos were bad, indoor or outdoor, all day and all night. I covered myself in deet and still was eaten alive. Not sure how they can deal with that but it prevented me from enjoying my time there."

"Lugar hermoso y apartado (se precisa auto para llegar al centro de villa serrana). La cocina es amplia y está muy completa, con horno eléctrico y anafe a gas, lo cual fue ideal porque nos encanta cocinar. La estufa a leña es un lujo. Nos pidieron un depósito de garantía en efectivo a la entrada a la cabaña pero cuando nos fuimos constataron que estaba todo en orden y nos devolvieron el dinero del depósito. La persona que nos recibió estuvo siempre a disposición por mensaje y atenta a responder nuestras dudas."
