"Stayed over Christmas and indulged in the special menus for Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day lunch, both of which were excellent. Loved the room and personally liked the combination bath / shower as I could use it as a bath, though this might not suite everybody."

"You can walk round the golf course but the hotel is a bit isolated. You do need access to you own vehicle to visit the surrounding towns."

"Everything was amazing. The natural surroundings are gorgeous and with the right type of footwear, very easy to explore. The rooms are incredibly roomy, clean, and quiet. The place is gorgeous, comfortable, and well-preserved. The staff is outstandingly nice and helpful. We found the breakfast to not be as varied as we'd expect, though it did have everything we wanted and liked. We weren't able to try the Spa/Pool area, but looked around and it seemed pretty interesting for our next visit."

"The parking lot/spaces are outdoors, in an open compact-dirt-type terrain area, which means the vehicles are at the mercy of the elements, there's no shade, and get easily dirty, hot, or cold, depending on the weather. That isn't a huge problem, but I'd expect at least some top covers on the parking lot, protecting the vehicles from the sun and rain, at a minimum."

"The restaurants opening hours were not respected. We tried to have dinner in one of the restaurants, within the opening time and we were told it was closed."

"Bad internet connection - not all sites and apps work good on a wifi. Breakfast until 11:00 would be perfect. Blankets - I just do not find this type of wrapping comfortable (sheets instead of duvet cover)"

"There is loads to like. An architectural belle epoque gem. Real wow factor. Fabulous interior furnishings. Friendly, efficient & helpful staff. We stayed in a privilege room which was spacious and had a huge bathroom with both bath & shower. Excellent sheets & pillows. Huge bed. Excellent breakfast. Decent spa. Overall, a great hotel."

"A number of relatively minor things. The chaise longue in our room had a big stain. The sink taps had very low pressure; shower however was fine. The Spa is very stark. Should really be much “warmer” in feel to it. The warming trays at breakfast don’t really do their job probably. Everything was lukewarm."

"The installations are exceptional, impressive and unforgettable! What a beautiful location - both the hotel itself and the nature surrounding the hotel. It was so nice for walks and to be in nature."

We were pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to communicate, even in Australian English! The entire experience felt warm, welcoming, and truly five-star. We would absolutely recommend Vidago Palace and hope to return one day!"
