Stairs towards flat a bit dark at night (especially the top part) but security light goes on half way down

Vi boede hos Anni og det var fantastisk. Lejligheden var lækker, nyrenoveret og ren. Vi havde en stor altan med den smukkeste udsigt. Vi blev behandlet rigtig godt og familiært

"Communication was quick and helpful. The room was a reasonable size and the bed comfortable. The area was excellent with metro, shops and restaurants all very close by."

I didn't not like anything, but a knife to cut things with would have been useful and maybe mugs for tea/coffee as there were only some small paper cups.

"Et dejligt hus med dejlige senge. God anvisning til at finde stedet."

Da vi ankom var der beskidt service i opvaskemaskinen og spisebordet ikke tørt af. Der var også kun 2 spiseskeer og 1 teske i huset. Vi ringede til udlejer om de manglende skeer. Efter 10 min bankede det på døren, men desværre en medarbejder der hverken kunne dansk, norsk eller engelsk. Han havde håndklæder og sengetøj med, men ingen skeer. Jeg prøvede at fortælle ham vi manglede skeer. Han lavede et opkald og gik. 5 min efter kom ham igen og gik i gang med at starte opvaskemaskine og tømme skraldespand??? Han ville op og skifte sengetøj, men det var gjort så vi fik ham stoppet. Da jeg så viste ham et billede af en ske forstod Han og kom tilbage med 6 teskeer. De almindelige spiseskeer fik vi aldrig.

"Very cozy place owned by an incredibly friendly and welcoming family. Breakfast was included in the price and it was always absolutely delicious — thanks to them, I had the chance to try several traditional Sri Lankan dishes I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. Whenever I needed anything, they were quick to help and always took care of everything with a smile. Their hospitality truly made my stay feel special and comfortable. Thank you once again for such a warm and memorable experience!"

The place is located a bit farther from the main areas, so you’ll need to walk a few kilometers, take a tuk-tuk, or have your own vehicle. However, there is a small convenience shop right next to the accommodation, which is handy if you need anything. If you’re sensitive to noise at night, it might be an issue — though that’s quite common for most hostels and village houses in Sri Lanka.

"My sister & I stayed 4 nights here! 😍 We loved that… it was great value for money,… there’s a shop downstairs that opened 7 days till late… The location was awesome, right next to DMC, Vailoa, (the best fried chicken franchise on the island 😋)… the twin room was clean, and spacious with 2 x twin beds, sofa lounge, a balcony with clothes airer, a wardrobe, massive shower with hot water, toiletries & towels, kitchen sink with utilities, Tea/Coffee facilities, Aircon & free WiFi…and… The host, (Teresa), was very friendly & welcoming, always willing & present to help out when needed. 😃"

The only issue, was the accommodation is upstairs and carrying heavy luggage upstairs was a little challenging, otherwise, it was excellent value for money. 👍

"We liked everything! This can not be described by words. One must come and see the exceptionally beautiful nature of Mariovo, this village Zovich and the nearby village Staravina. The accomodation offered everything we needed, the host Mitko, his wife and mother were very friendly and helpful, they make extraordinary food in their restaurant, all fresh and of high quality. We will be back again!"

We really can not think of anything we did not like.

"The host was super nice, she even helped me out to find locations in the city, the house was very clean, quiet and comfy. I would totally recommend it to everyone, i also want to mention that the house is historical. Would totally come back❤️❤️"

"Nice room with en-suite bathroom and kitchenette connected to main house but separate entrance. Good option if you want to surf Playa Colorados - 15 min walk or less by bicycle. The host Eric is friendly and hospitable."

"The property is as super clean, modern and beautifully designed. All fittings are of good quality and very comfortable beds. The flat is of good size, with large bedrooms and good sized well equipped kitchen. We felt very welcome and really enjoyed our stay. Check in was smooth and easy and there is plenty of room of store all of your belongings. We will most definitely be staying here again."

"Getting keys from the wall safe was easy. The place itself was lovely and quiet. Comfortable beds. Good heating. Nice small kitchen. Two bathrooms, one en-suite. Cosy living room. Good range of channels on the TV. Plus you are only a 10 minute walk from the Minster and old town, and only 20 minutes walk from the train station."

Going home. Can't think of anything.

"Staying at Shangri-la gave us experience in the homey environment. Staffs were very helpful and kind. We put this place as the first choice if we go back to Yangon again. Thank for fulfilling our fond memories."

"What a great surprise this find is, staying with a local community and eating the traditional food ,only 25mins walk to a private beach and 10min walk to the ash fields . Here the rumble of the mountain like its a distant thunder storm. The kids will show you around with great enthusiasm. And all being close to the volcano and hot springs and the hosts will arrange any other activities and transports needed , This is the real deal don't miss out . Ps look after Max well we will return ."
