"Esam ļoti apmierināti ar uzturēšanos šajā naktsmītnē. Telpas ir plašas, ļoti kārtīgas un gaumīgi iekārtotas, kas rada patīkamu sajūtu jau no pirmā brīža. Īpaši vēlamies izcelt izcilo attieksmi pret viesiem – jūtams patiesi sirsnīgs rūpīgums un vēlme, lai viesi justos ērti un gaidīti. Liela uzslava saimniekam, kurš parūpējās par visu, kas mums bija nepieciešams, vienmēr bija atsaucīgs un pretimnākošs. Saimnieks arī saorganizēja ekskursijas, kas bija patiesi interesantas, saturīgas un ļāva iepazīt apkārtnes un lokācijas būtību, ne tikai virspusēji, bet ar stāstu un dvēseli. "First I would like to thank the entire team, make the period of staying in Makame a pleasure and feel like home! The owner is verry helpfull in any kind of request and questions. The location is cozy, and chill, which makes it verry comfortable. As big plus I would like to give for the individual kichinette and fridge for each apartment. This makes it feel private, as at home, not depending on other guests. The big individual teracce, and the garden is really nice and colourfull. Small store available direct to the location."

"Basecamp Eco Lodge is perfectly situated at the beautiful white sand beach of Utende in the middle of a protected marine park. No mass tourism yet on Mafia therefore a tranquil place to fully relax and enjoy the high level of comfort and luxury that Basecamp offers with beautiful new boutique rooms in the middle of an authentic African experience in the village next to it. As the beautiful Chole bay and marine park are just in front of the lodge it is very easy to take one of the many tours.. You can easily spend 1-2 weeks without being bored as Mafia island has much experiences to offer.. There are a few diving schools in Utende at walking distance. Also a few small Swahili restaurants along the coast. The Basecamp restaurant also served a diverse and tasty menu which changes every day. The staff of Basecamp is amazing - they really make you feel at home and take care of everything you might need. Highly recommended!"
