"Lidt upersonlig betjening både i reception og i restaurant, hvor mange misforståelser opstår på grund af sprogforvirring. Vi boede fem dage. Ejerne var der kun en enkelt dag og tog sig ikke tid til at vise sig i restauranten og tale med gæsterne. Det er uforståeligt for os. Vi boede to steder; en familiebungalow med tre senge og udsigt over havet og stor terrasse var skøn - mens den anden familiebungalow, der ligger i tilknytning til køkken/restaurant er mindre attraktiv. Der kan være en del larm, når restauranten lukker om aftenen og åbner om morgenen, og man har slet ikke den samme fornemmelse af at bo i naturen som i sea view bungalowerne."

"Mucumbli is a great place to relax, the room was nice and tidy and the view from the terrace over the sea, as well as sleeping to the sound of the waves, was amazing. The food at the restaurant, which also offers a fantastic view, was really delicious. People & service was quick and friendly. The place offers a bike rental, easy and convenient way to explore the west coast independently."

"There is a direct access to the beach which is nice, but the beach as such cannot compare to other places on the island."

"Beautiful views of the sea and setting with gorgeous nature all around. Particularly nice restaurant area. Comfortable and spacious room with a superb private terrace overlooking the sea. Would have stayed here longer if we weren’t heading home. Food was absolutely delicious. Only negative was that we were charged €20 for laundry, but they gave it back to us soaking wet. This meant I had no clean clothes to travel home in, which was disappointing."

"Breakfast had many options, kitchen for dinner had a massive menu and a mix of local dishes and more western dishes. Views everywhere were incredible with lots of wildlife to be seen easily. Rooms all have lovely outdoor sitting areas and the staff ensure the stay was perfect. They also have a wide range of activities you can arrange for a great rate, with the option of having english guides. The guide are excellent and know plenty, another bonus great cars for the activities. Excellent communication leading up to the trip. during and after. No fault about mucumbli!"

"I liked the set up of the bungalows in the forest with a view onto the ocean. Breakfast was good every day - dinners sometimes good, sometimes less. The receptionist or manager of the property Mr. Inuel gave essential information to us, was flexible with the payying options and friendly in his communication style. He was really the essential heart-person at the property."

"At dinner, what they offered us on the menu was ... unpredictable how it was going to be cooked or how good it would taste. I really think there should be some fresh attention to the restaurant and how well it cookes for the guests."

"I would consider Mucumbli an essential stay when exploring Sao Tome, at least for a few days. It's the only viable option on the west side of the island and gives you great access to some of the sights and activities nearby like Roca Diogo Vaz or doing the seven tunnels hike. It's also an absolute paradise for nature, so many birds of different kinds to sit and watch while overlooking the sea. Mucumbli has that touch of quality that was greatly appreciated having stayed in other places around the island beforehand. Really clean and well furnished rooms with everything you need. There is also a laundry service that was helpful. The meals here are also very good, I really enjoyed the mix of local cuisine as well as pasta dishes. The calulu (local dish) is exceptional!"

"I was a little disappointed with the service in the restaurant at times. Some staff seemed a little unbothered. I sat in there once over lunch hours hoping for at least a drink but nobody seemed interested in serving me - even though other parties arrived and were given attention, so I gave up and went to sit outside my room instead. Communication was also a bit of an issue at front desk - one guy spoke excellent English and I was grateful he was available to both check me in and out. Others did not seem to speak much English so it was difficult to resolve some things. Both minor issues though and should not take away from the fact that this was an excellent and essential place to stay and experience."

"It’s the best hotel of the island! We stayed there our first night and then came back for two more nights at the end of our trip. Lovely and clean bungalows, waking up to a sea view from the terrace, great breakfast and an extensive menu for dinner."
