"Rooms are spread over several terraces with lots of flowers. We were on the top and had a great view. Being at elevation, it's nice and cool at night. No fans needed. Great new showers with good hot water. They have a pump system through which there is still water when the power is out. A generator is turned on if there is a power cut in the morning or evening. The restaurant is very good. During lunch it is particularly well visited. For breakfast and dinner it's primarily hotel guests. Great breakfast with lots of fruits and good bread. Dinner was a daily changing dish by a daily rotating local chef. Large parking lot. Nearby attractions are Monte Café and Cascata de São Nicolau."

Aunque en maps me me indicaba que para pocos kms se tardaba mucho ( es decir, malísimos caminos), no fue así y llegamos a la primera una vez que pasas la población de São José. La casa está todavía en construcción algún dormitorio. El entorno es una maravilla, rodeado de naturaleza. La primera noche cenamos en el porche pero ya a partir del segundo día nos amenazaban las hormigas. Nos esperaron para darnos las llaves. Las habitaciones arriba son muy amplias con balcón y vistas. Las camas cómodas. Hay dos baños con ducha, a mí me resultó más cómodo el de abajo, el de arriba no cerraba la puerta. La cocina dispone de barra americana, horno (no muy limpio), cocina a butano y todo el menage está fuera. Buena relación calidad-precio"

"Enormt dejligt og nærmest luksuriøst overnatningssted 20 km oppe i bjergene fra hovedstaden. Vi rejste tre personer sammen og fik familieværelset med to soveværelser med fælles adgang og fælles badeværelse og kæmpe terrasse. Den lille pool og fiskespa blev flittigt brugt. Det fungerer godt med kokken, som laver 'private dinner'. Husk at spørge om vej til vandfaldet! Og den lille landsby ved siden af overnatningsstedet er skøn at besøge."

"A good budget choice in a country where affordable options are limited. Each room has an AC, some rooms have a fridge. The manager Cassio speaks fluent English (rare in Sao Tome) and is very responsive to WhatsApp messages. The rooms operate like self contained apartments, you'll have a key and can come and go as you please (there's no reception so you won't feel like you're being watched"

"We are a family of 6 and we spent 20 days in this 3 bedroom spacious and comfortable house with excellent facilities and everything worked well starting from the air conditioning in all of the rooms, the standby generator, kitchen appliances ie: boiler, washing machine, fridge, kettle, microwave, cooker etc, big smart TV with Netflix amazon prime in the living room. Located in the city centre and close to the shops and restaurants with easy street parking. The house also have a well maintained private front garden where residents can relax.. The house has been recently refurbished."

"Det er en 360-graders oplevelse at bo på Welfare. Det skyldes især den varme, man bliver mødt af fra de to entreprenante og skønne søstre, der ejer stedet! Alt kan lade sig gøre og det er superhyggeligt at komme hjem fra ture og få en snak. Welfare ligger smukt midt i junglen og drives samtidig som et ægte landbrug med vanilje og andre tropiske afgrøder. Alt er velholdt og naturen omkring er fantastisk at gå ture i."
