Hotel Barcadam

"Stunning historic property, quirky but fabulous room decorated with unique art and antique furniture. Exceptional value for money ! The hotel was incredibly quiet except for the noise from a parrot in a courtyard nearby. The location was perfect - just below the old castle and near an excellent ruin bar that had some lovely live music. We paid for breakfast in the cafe below which was also great and good value. There were two sitting rooms available to use but it didn’t really have the feel of a hotel - more like being a guest in the house of an art collector ! Would recommend doing the silver mine underground tour in the Skansen - you need to reserve a place."

"This hotel is unique and exceptional. There is no reason not to stay here. Communication with the hotel was excellent, and our welcome was warm and friendly. The hotel is totally unique, and an old building where every corner has interesting features and furniture. The long walk up the wooden stairs is wonderful. The room was light, warm, comfortable, and huge. The bed was very comfortable and views over the city. Location is also perfect. There is nothing I would change, I just recommend this place"

"The bed was very uncomfortable. Although not a problem for us and actually contributes to the old Slovakia experience, I do NOT recommend for anyone who has difficulty walking distances as the parking is 10 minute walk up a steep hill, multiple steps up to rooms, and the town in general is hilly walking everywhere."
