Casa da Urra

"A beautiful location "Casa da Urra" is an agricultural estate: specializing in wine production, cattle raising and rural tourism. A very peaceful location with stunning views of the vineyards and the city of Portalegre. With lots of activities, tennis, swimming pool, cycling and running trails. There is also a small museum focusing on the decorative arts from various parts of Portugal."

"I should have stayed for longer"

"We stayed just one night on our travels and it was one of the best places we have ever stayed. The welcome we received from Elio was very warm. He was very charming and helpful, spoke good English and showed us into the apartment (Rústico Apartamento). The apartment is very spacious and tastefully decorated with quality furniture and ornaments. The bedroom actually has 2 large beds adjoining which were very comfortable. It was all very clean and had a real luxurious feel with logos on the towels and bedding. Numerous little extras and ample breakfast fayre in the fridge and fresh bread and pastries delivered to the door in the morning. The weather was cold and quite wet in early March but the apartment was cosy. The view over the winery land is spectacular even in bad weather. The pool would be fantastic in summer. Can't fault it in any way and remarkable value for money. We also bought some of their wine to take away. It would make a perfect base for longer stays."

"The breakfast consisted of fresh bread and pastries which were left by the door every morning. The fridge was also stocked with cheese, ham, yoghurt, fruit, milk, fruit juice, butter and jam and replenished on request."

"Adorámos toda a envolvência na qual a casa está situada. Toda a herdade está pensada ao detalhe e com pormenores de muito bom gosto. O Sr. Élio é incansável em tentar corresponder a todas as solicitações. A herdade oferece piscina, campo de ténis, parque infantil, passeios pelo campo (a pé ou de bicicleta), visitas à adega (mediante marcação), etc."

"O conforto térmico foi um pouco desafiante. Estava muito frio, e quer o quarto duplo, quer as WCs nunca atingiram a temperatura desejável para nos sentirmos mesmo confortáveis, muito embora o quarto tivesse A/C e as WCs, toalheiros eléctricos."
