"Location is perfect. The view is amazing. This place can facilitate a lot of people. I would definitely recommend this place for a stay for groups or a family."
"When we arrived the whole place was not ready: dirty laundry, it was very cold inside and took almost 2 days to worm up the whole place only after we've asked heaters. However, the owners helped us to resolve all issues."
"The cabin had everything we needed for our four night stay at the end of August/early September with another couple while we were exploring Lofoten. It was quiet, very clean and very comfortable. Øystein was very prompt in answering queries and even dropped around an electric BBQ for us to use one evening, which was very kind. The outlook from the deck to Ballstad harbour and the peaks behind was stunning. The washing machine/dryer was welcomed by us weary travellers, as was the powerful shower."

"Everything was absolutely perfect! The mountain and lake views were stunning. The host provided all the necessary kitchenware and bathroom essentials, along with a great selection of board games. The house can accommodate more than five people, as there are three bedrooms. It’s centrally located in Lofoten, making it easy to visit all the tourist attractions from one place."

"Great stay, perfect little rorbu for our time in Norway. Had all the facilities for a self sufficent week, including fully equipped kitchen, bathroom/laundry and a number of beds. Loved the peaceful and picturesque location right on the harbour!"

"You can't beat the location..it's stunning, and quiet. Leknes is a short drive if you need more than the local supermarket has. Communication was brilliant and check-in easy with a door code. Parking directly across the road is ample and safe. Kitchen has everything you need to self cater. Beds are comfy with plenty of linen. Bathroom has a great shower,and washing machine/dryer combo appreciated! Happily stay again."

"I'd like this red rorbu the most of my trip in Norway. The view from the house is amazing! The view of mountains and lake is so beutiful. The house is comfortable with a big space. 2 floor. The second floor for sleep only and the ground floor is for kitchen and to sit and relax with stunning view from the couch. I love it. The kitchen is seperated with bedroom is so good. the smell won't get in sleeping place. The kitchen has everything you need. But if have more spices for cooking would be great. And got washing machine. The host provide you with tons of towels and linen for bed. And we family for 3 persons but we got 3 bedrooms. So great! The location in Ballstad is good connected to any place in Lofoten easily because it's in the middle. And the village is so peaceful not many tourists here. And Bunprix supermarket, gas station is quite close by car. All in all I love this place and will definitely come back next time."

"The sprial staircase to the upper floor can be quite hard to negotiate, need to walk down very slowly and carefully. My husband didn't like the smell of the bedsheets (which we have to pick up from the upboard and lay it ourselves)."

"Almost everything was there to spend few days comfortable (the kettle but was missing but we didn’t miss it too much - found a way to boil the water for hot beverages)."

"We had quite low expectations, but the stay exceeded all of them by far :). We got a bit different rooms from what we’ve seen on the picture, or in our imagination… but they have only 5 special rooms, and all of them have their own story and design. The house is more than 200 years old, it has a long history, and you feel it in the air, in every small detail of the house, all the attention and details of décor. The house has impressive yard (if you are lucky with the weather), you can swim in the sea. The bathrooms and a toilet are shared among all the tenants, but we had no queues or overlapping with our other tenants staying the same night. It was one of the most unique hotels we stayed at, it has a soul! Lovely stay and experience for our family of four."
