"The location was amazing right opposite the castle. We had a choice of the rooms but unfortunately not the one with the balcony which everyone raves about! Simon and Denise were great hosts. Denise gave us a wonderful wine tasting and recommended a pre-dinner wine for us to drink, including a couple of wine glasses to drink from. The A/C worked really well which was perfect as the temperature was in the mid 30's. You need to go inside the wine store to check-in in case you wonder where the reception is located."

"Superb location with a balcony overlooking the fortress and within easy walking distance of the town. The balcony was a beautiful spot to eat breakfast and equally watch the sunset with some sundowners. We were made to feel very welcome and received excellent restaurant recommendations which was very useful as there are lots to choose from. We can't wait to come back!"

"The location was in the walking distance from the good wine tasting places in the ”centre”. The host Simone was nice, so it could have been a good experience."

"The lady who we met and who gave us our room was just unpleasant. She was so arrogant and not friendly at all. This was new to us, as we have rearly experienced this kind of obnoxious behaviour in our (hundreds) accomodations over the years. We were friendly from the beginning, but somehow she wanted us to feel miserable. Every sentence we said she replied rude and with sarcascm. We didn’t understand why. We saw her with the customers in the wine cellar and she was giving her best show and was so ”friendly”. We just couldn’t understand why she hated us so much and wanted us to feel miserable. Maybe because we were nice and she had dealt only with bad customers, who were not so nice and told her place from the beginning? So maybe being nice to her was a mistake. If so, we feel sorry for her, if she wanted to ”get back to the difficult customers” trough us? We were offered a glass of wine for welcoming and we asked this woman about the wine tasting. She told that there is no tasting and we had already tasted their wine. What?!? So she basically asked us to go somewhere else for wine tasting and of course we went after this experience. We got very good service in the next place and bought some beautiful Brunellos. The room was small and there was nothing extra. The view was to the parking lot. This could have been ok, but the lady made our stay misrable. We met the owner Simone (?) and he was very nice and friendly. Hope he could have been our host during our visit."

"The location is right in the city center, in the heart of Montalcino, next to the castle. The public and free parking is nearby, but if you have luggage, it’s better to park close, unload your bags, and then move the car to the parking lot. There is no elevator to reach the rooms, only stairs. However, the place is great, and we were well received. Breakfast is not provided, but there are nearby markets, and the room has a minibar. We recommend it – a great place to stay."

"The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. We had a lovely view from our bedroom window. It is centrally located and so easy to walk around in the small town. Communication with our host Simone, was excellent. Denise is an an absolute gem. Their recommendation for supper turned out to be super."

"The room could do with a few amnenities. It had 2 plastic water glasses. In a town that is all about wine, one would expect wine glasses in the room to enjoy the lovely wine. Although Denise did give us glasses when we asked her. A kettle or coffee machine would also make the stay more enjoyable."

"We were on the top floor in a small apartment with a terrace. The views were amazing, especially at sunset. The location was beside the Castle, with nearby parking and easy access to all the main routes. It was a 5 minute walk to the main square. We loved the apartment and it's location. Simon is a very friendly and pleasant host, and nothing was too much trouble for him."

"Carrying cases up the stairs - but all such buildings are the same! And Simone helped - so not really enough to put anyone off!"
