Rans Hill Lodge

"This place is far nicer than the pics - it's gorgeous once you get in! Rooms are spacious , there is some internal communal space which is nice and the jewel in the crown is the big terrace with beautiful plants and flowers. It is a lovingly restored lodge that is simple and everything you need. I met the owner who was a lovely man and talked about how the home had been in the family for generations. It is a little bit out of the hustle and bustle of Cape Coast but still very close to everything as the main town is so small."

"It's a cute small hotel on a nice premise overlooking the city. It's therefore on a hill, not that easy to reach at first. Great bed, clean room and bathroom, AC,... Good for a night or two."

"Nothing spectacular. A couple of details: mind the steps in the bathroom, slightly expensive for what it is, slightly out of town, basic breakfast (a good cup of coffee would have been appreciated)."

"Nice accommodation, not too far from the cape coast caste, about a 15 minutes walk. Big room, good AC, working wifi, a small fridge, big bed There was a basic breakfast.. Friendly ladies take care of the property, and I was happy I could pay by card."

"Nothing major, but it was a bit hard to find using google maps, but its not on them, Turn left not where google map asks you to, but at the next road, go up 50 meterrs, and you are there. The bathroom had three different levels, slightly dangerous if you are not careful."

"Excellent location, centrally located in the town. On a hill. Beautiful view on the town and you can even see the sea. We rented 3 rooms, and could also make use of a cozy sitting room. The rooms were clean and convenient. The bath rooms were also clean. Some tiles were damaged, and you could tell the bath rooms had been used a lot, but that did not bother us since they were clean. Good air conditioning in the hotel rooms and nice fans on the ceiling. Breakfast was light but tastful, and was served on a terrace. Furthermore the hosts arranged a taxi for us, and the drivers drove very safe and were friendly."

"I chose this hotel over a hotel on the beach. I’m sure glad I did. It was in a local neighbourhood. The staff was brilliant. Great room. Comfortable. Breakfast was really good. I’d stay there again in a heartbeat."

"The map to get to the hotel showed a way that really was not great. There’s an easier way to get to the hotel but you dont know until you get there. There’s map needs updating."

"Located in the center but on a slight hill, this hotel is a well built large house where a few rooms are rented out. Breakfast is generous and served outdoors with freshly boiled water in a kettle. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfy beds."

"Most taxis don't know the hotel for some reason and needed to be guided. My wife got sick eating at a modern restaurant facing Baobab (which offers great food and juices). Baobab was closed. Perhaps the Rans Hill hotel is slightly overpriced."

"When there is noise locally it impacts, but I was there during election week so maybe not representative. Cash payment only makes the customer do the work. I stayed for 10 nights so that’s a lot of cash I had to get. I understand it may change soon"
