The Waterman is situated 2 minutes’ walk from the River Cam, and half a mile from the historical city centre of Cambridge. This traditional Cambridge pub features an on-site morgenmadssal. "An absolute gem of a find. A little away from the centre but a nice walk and plenty of bus stops. Our room (2) was spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, warm, a really nice bathroom with clean towels and toiletries provided. The breakfast was well worth the money with good quality bacon, sausage and egg. I'm assuming the people we met were the hosts and what pleasant people too. Rooms on top of a boozer which sells proper beer too, what's not to like?"

"This is the third time we've stayed and the third different room. Whilst the previous two rooms have been in need of maintenance and refresh, they were at least a decent size but this time room 3 was just too small, felt like a broom cupboard, totally unloved and still had a Xmas wreath on the door (blocking the room number). The cushions on the bed were grubby, the walls seemed to have lots of condensation dribble stains, there was no where to put anything or move with two people in the room, a bare bulb from the ceiling, the toilet stopped flushing and overall would put us off of staying here again."

"We left without paying for Breakfast - it was THAT bad. Really hard to park cars without incurring serious cost, but that’s okay as Cambridge is a cycle-friendly city. Breakfast was a comically bad experience, with a young lad behind the bar dealing with the worst ever Chef I’ve ever experienced … we waited over an hour for fridge-cold meagre servings straight from the fridge, pretending to be what we ordered."
