"Friendly staff delicious food great walks with our dog"

"Everything. It is in a beautiful spot on the edge of Dartmoor. There were masses of snowdrops in the pretty garden and a rookery by the river. It was dog friendly. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and fun too. I think they had been very well trained. The rooms were impeccably clean. The dinner we had for nine was really delicious. There was a good choice of food and the wine list was fine. It was a bit on the expensive side so I cannot afford to go there often but my wife said afterwards that it was the best hotel we have ever stayed in."

"Breakfast was excellent and the room used for that was beautiful. The place is a warren of corridors and secret side doors, so pay attention when walked to your room so you do not get lost!"

"The meal was exceptional. You could tell it was a popular place to dine, not just for residents but local people, as every table was taken in the restaurant. It's also perfectly positioned halfway from our place to Cornwall."
