"A very elegant and old house. Very sympathetically modernised, but retaining wonderful beams etc. We were cooked an excellent meal by the host who made us very welcome. Easy parking outside. Also an excellent breakfast."

"What a pretty gem, right next to the church. The room was big and comfortable, bathroom great. Everything very pretty. The staff ( owners?) were very welcoming and breakfast fantastic."

"Whilst understanding some of the negative comments, all were overridden by the positives. ie. Spacious, beautifully and tastefully furnished rooms. Comfortable and accessible reception rooms and the attentiveness of the young manager who was running the place on his own. So nothing to dislike"

"Ambience and decor were beautiful and a great location for the town. Private garden, high walls. Bed very large and comfortable. Lovely bedding and pillows. Lovely dining//living areas, stylish and tasteful."

"Bathroom wasn’t very practical, sink was far too narrow and shower head too small- style over function! Problem with toilet cistern not turning off but a small maintenance issue. No toilet roll holder on the wall so the paper trailed on the floor. Soap dispenser needed cleaning properly. Sink unit a bit tired and hadn’t been cleaned inside. Light bulb in one bedside lamp not working. We had an evening meal but it was very casual food and not fitting for such a beautiful dining room! We were not offered coffee after the meal. Breakfast was reasonable but the processed ham and cheese was a disappointment, have never seen that in a boutique hotel of this quality."
