"This was a last-minute, unplanned stay—our original hotel was so ghastly on arrival that I refused to stay, so I immediately searched and booked Le Bas Chitray, which was close by. What a gem it turned out to be. The staff were incredibly kind, the building and the grounds are beautifully maintained. They had just two seats left for dinner, which we snapped up—the fare was exceptional, French cuisine at its finest. Our room was impeccably decorated. We tried to extend our stay, but they were fully booked—and I can see why. If you get the chance, go. It’s absolutely worth it."

"Lovely relaxing grounds. The hosts were incredibly accommodating for everything! They made a fuss of our daughter birthday and served a delicious breakfast with what I think are the best croissants in France!! They go to a lot of effort to source high quality local produce and you can really tell! Will happily book here again! Thank you so much for everything!"

"We booked the room with a bath and it was a very nice staycation before heading to Vendee. We also brought our labrador and she was allowed to walk around. There was a donkey and cows. The owner offered us eggs, bread and juice for breakfast."

"Beautiful B&B in carefully renovated manor house, charming bedroom (La Chapelle), attention to detal, very clean and comfortable. Owner is very professional, attentive and helpful. Nice breakfasts and delicious dinners with a vegetarian option. Fast charging point for electric cars, spacios parking. I had a lovely stay and I would recommend this place without hesitation."

"As it was an apartment, we were able to buy produce and cook our own breakfast, which was a nice change. There was a large living room where we could easily store our folding bikes and bike trailer. We were able to do laundry and hang it outside to dry and it was nice to have a bedroom. Also, the host, Jean Francois, was very accommodating to the fact that we were travelling by bike with a child."

"Le terrain sans vis à vis avec le petit étang. Le bbq mis à disposition, la terrasse au soleil. Le calme. Le terrain clôt pour les chiens, avec portail qui peut être fermé si besoin. Hôtes très arrangeants, gentils et discrets."
