Hôtel La Prison

"Havde en perfekt overnatning 3 personer i 3 personers værelse, vi var der i 38 graders varme og trods vi havde hørt det ville blive ulideligt, at sove der uden aircondition. Så var der helt fint med de faner der var i værelset. Vi havde en fantastisk oplevelse. Poolen er ikke stor men bare det at have muligheden. Fængslet og byen, omgivelserne var fantastisk. En eventyrlig oplevelse."

"Fantastisk indretning i et gl. fængsel. Utrolig stemningsfuld og fyldt med moderne kunst overalt. Værelser i “cellerne”. Selv møblerne var særegne og flotte. Murene på værelset var udsmykket i forhold til afskalning på væggen. Fællesarealer med lækre møbler og spændende kunst. Restaurant/bistro på stedet er gourmet! Billig og fantastisk med flot udsigt over området. Lille pool også enestående. Et af de absolut bedste, mest spektakulære steder, vi har boet! Dejligt at se arkitektur, kunst og mad gå op i en højere enhed, og så til en billig pris. Vi gav ca. 75 euro for et dobbeltværelse."

"Det er svært at køre tæt på hotellet med bil for at læsse bagage af. Det kan lade sig gøre, men vist ikke helt lovligt. Heldigvis er der p-kælder (Les Halles 2), rimelig tæt på!"

"The hotel was in an amazing location, a 20 minute walk or so from the train station and right next door to the stunning cathedral, overlooking the bridges. We loved the vibe of the hotel, keeping its prison themes but with great style which made it quirky and fun rather than intimidating! The bed was really comfortable and we slept really well, breakfast was tasty and the staff were all really friendly and attentive, we would definitely stay here again."

"The pool wasn’t ready and quite a few broken tiles, though the price did reflect this and wasn’t really an issue, there was plenty of other things to do, but would have been nice to rest out on the patio even if we couldn’t swim, but there was maintenance work going on- I’m sure it will be great when it opens in May!"

"Clean, nice, friendly staff, nice artwork inside, decour...interesting. In old town next to cathedral. Very comfy bed, good bathroom with hot shower. Looks recently renovated. It was prison until 2009 as per information from staff, so it's rather quirky concept to stay in an ex prison cell, good that there are no bars on the windows. I didn't check the ceiling fan, it was fairly comfortable temperature on it's own, and it was a quiet night too, maybe the walls are fairly thick... Still some writings on the cell walls and room decour keep up with the overall ex prison theme."

"I feel very sensitive to energies and there's still lingering energy of the things happening there when it was a prison, trapped in the walls. How do I know? Comparison to other places. Because when I entered a room where piano was played for several years in another building, I felt the walls retained harmonious vibration and it felt absolutely peaceful. This place had quite opposite sensation. It may take time for it to dissipate on it's own, when people of more peaceful disposition, curious tourists continue inbuing their essence there when staying as guests. No, I didn't see any ghosts or hear any strange whispers or noises."

"An ‘experience’ hotel - really good fun to (voluntarily) spend a night in a prison - good to see many of the prison fittings preserved. Lots of thought and considering has gone into the decor. Great location, beautiful building, fantastic views."

"The narrow streets of the Old Town make access in a large car something to consider if you are worried by that sort of thing……parking is a down the road in a public car park. The food in the restaurant was ok and the swimming pool was out of action during our stay."
