"We had a great stay at Spondylus Lodge! The rooms are clean and comfortable and everything looks new. The center of the little town and beach are a 2 minute walk. Ayampe is a super cute little town and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The owner and family where enjoying a holiday while we were there and where super hospitable and kind to us! Ayampe and Spondylus lodge are definitely our new favorite beach destination in Ecuador!"

"Spondylus lodge was one of my best accommodations in South America so far! I had a private room; good price, very spacey with own balcony. Comfortable bed and good AC! Free coffee in the morning and filtered water. 5 min walk to the beach. Big common areas and a good common kitchen. The place was very very clean. Staff was nice and helpful! Very quite and tranquil. would def recommend!"
"If you want to stay right at the beach this is not the place for you. Not very social, but off season and only two other guests there."

"Nos gustó mucho el lugar, solo recomendaría los mantenimiento urgentes: 1. La ducha... necesita una limpieza el regador. Siempre es complejo en la costa porque se tapa muy fácil pero hay métodos caseros muy efectivos y rápidos. 2. Las hornillas de la cocina: Necesitan urgente mantenimiento. Pudimos cocinar, pero si estaban bastante tapadas. Por seguridad hagan mantenimiento."

"Excelente el tamaño de la habitación incluyendo su cama con sus múltiples capas de colchas para arroparse. Tenia un parador pequeño para colocar los objetos y mochilas. El baño contaba con agua caliente al girar la perilla derecha con la izquierda al ser el de frío regulaba que tan caliente uno deseaba. Excelente servicio a la habitación, incluso proveen con más rollo de papel higiénico en caso de requerir. El hotel y sus lugares aledaños son muy tranquilos y seguros. Igual uno debe ser precavido para evitar cualquier situación. La dueña del hotel responde casi inmediatamente si se presenta una novedad."
