El Arbol Hostel

"This hostel is located in an old beautiful villa near the old city center of La Serena. The staff is really helpful and friendly here. They organizing a lot of activities like whale watching or star gazing tours. You can also rent a bike here to discover the more outside part of the city. We spent only one night here but we loved it. The breakfast is also great here. 😋"

"It’s a hostel so a shared bathroom can be sometimes a bit annoying ( specially in “rush hours” ) 😅 But that’s it."

"It's a cosy little hostel near the main square and not too far from the bus station and a big supermarket. The atmosphere is friendly and staff is helpful. The beds are comfortable, there are lockers and it was always clean. There's a small backyard where you can sit outside."

"The kitchen is quite tiny and the fridge needs cleaning more often. When I arrived, there was hardly any space in the fridge. It turned out that there was old food from people who had left long ago and the food was already going bad."

"Excellent hostel. Very clean. Very friendly. I suppose I was lucky that I got a cheap upgrade to a better room on a quiet day. Very close to the bus station. If you are coming to la swrena you really must go to valle de elqui, vicuna, star gazing, downhill cycling, guayacan brewery."

"There were guests at the gate asking me to open the gate after hours. I was confused and uncomfortable. Not sure what the instructions are but they may not be cleared."

"Nice location, good bedrooms (although a bit tiny when all beds are occupied) and also sanitary facilities were fine. Breakfast was included and all for a very reasonable price."

"The kitchen is sufficiently equiped but really tiny, so if one person is cooking it's difficult to use any part of the kitchen. But this just requires a bit of planning and some flexibility."

"Great location near bus station and town, beach was a little further to walk but still close. Tali on reception is fabulous, very helpful with advice for things to do etc. Nice breakfast. Good communal areas inside and out."

"A nice accomodation, easy to meet people. Very clean. The location was also good - easy to reach from the busstation."

"There was no ladder to get to the top bunk. The beds were pushed against the windows. To be able to open up the window, we had to push the beds away from the windows. The breakfast was very minute and wasn't very tasty, I have to say... but at least it helped to get in contact with fellow travellers ;)"
