"I particularly like the kindness of the personnel. They were absolutely more than helpful after I had made a huge blunder on my booking. The view on the mountains and lake are beautiful. Gluten free options are available also for breakfast. Loved the style of the place and the modernised bathrooms."

"My second time in this hotel, because I liked it very much! It's clean, perfectly located: just at the entrance to the old town, slightly higher, which gives an amazing panoramic view, especially from the roof terrace and the dining room. My single room was comfortable, had a balcony and bathroom. All clean. Coffee machine, tee and coffee available. Only the pillow was uncomfortable for me. The breakfast buffet was fine with hot and cold, sweet and savoury options. However, the choice was not too big. I missed vegetables. All in all, I enjoyed staying in the hotel!"

"The staff at Hotel La Perla were all lovely and friendly and polite. I lost an expensive bracelet whilst there, and I believe a member of staff handed it in at reception, which I was very grateful for. We stayed in the villa, which was spacious, and it was cleaned to a high standard. There was plenty of choice for breakfast each morning."

"This hotel has a great location, just outside the pedestrian zone of Ascona. Private parking is available. Rooms are comfortable and functional. Views from the restaurant terrace is fantastic and breakfast is very good."

"Staff was absolutely amazing, reception staff are really great at their job, and so very nice! The location of the hotel is really great, a few steps away from all the sights and the old town. We also had lake view from our balcony which was awesome! Beds and linens were comfortable, and the breakfast was also really abundant and great!"

"Overall the structure and the rooms are very dated. I understand that the location is the main selling point of this accommodation at this affordable price, so any renewal would result in a higher price, however it's well maintained so I would still recommend. Parking, while fairly priced, is very very tight and had me quite nervous to park in and out."

"The staff were super nice and friendly… rooms and everything were very clean. The hotel is in a great location close to the bus station and many touristic places. There is a rooftop terrace, it is without service but you can just sit there relax and enjoy the stunning view of the Lake Maggiore and Ascona town. The breakfast was great though there were no much veggies options. Additionally, they generously provided transportation tickets for buses and trains in Ticino during my stay, which was a very thoughtful touch!"

"The room was not the same as the one I booked, and they showed on the website, it had different view from the balcony. The first photo is from my booking, while the last photo is the actual view of the room they gave me. There weren't many vegetable choices."

"I wasnt expecting much given the star rating of the hotel but I was positively surprised to find a comfortable and clean room, with a partial view to the lake, silent enough at night to leave the windows open (important during this particularly hot summer - a ventilator was helping too), and a great location close to the main promenade by the lake maggiore. Besides, the breakfast was amazing. Good value for what was payed, considering the expensive country."
