"We arrived late at night - 1am, took an Uber from the airport and were greeted by reception. The room was a simple dorm room - side by side - with a shared bathroom. The door to the corridor locked so that our two rooms and bathroom were private and secure. There was a lounge area with a TV and a kitchenette if you require that. It was very clean. Breakfast was great! The staff of young people were helpful and pleasant. This was perfect for a quick stay in St. John's - where we didn't think that the value of an expensive hotel in the downtown area was worth it. It was about $15 to Uber to the main street. In my opinion and having our budget in mind, better to save that money for interesting stays in other areas of the province or an amazing boat tour!"

"This stay was arranged in the student dormitories of the largest university in the area. The location is very convenient, not far from downtown, and surrounded by a quiet residential neighborhood. It was my first time experiencing life in a student dorm. The building layout is a bit unusual, but considering it’s a dormitory, the design is quite practical: upon entering, there is a small living area, with toilets and sinks on either side, and a bathroom on the other side. Each person has a private single room, ensuring plenty of privacy. Breakfast is served in the school cafeteria and offers options somewhere between a full meal and a simple snack, including fresh fruit, juice, and toast. The staff, mostly local students, are very friendly and welcoming. With few people around and a peaceful environment, it’s also nice to take some time to explore the campus and enjoy the university atmosphere."

"Each dormitory’s small living area is equipped with a motion-sensor light, which is likely installed for safety reasons. However, the light is quite harsh and takes a long time to automatically turn off, with no option for manual control. This can be quite bothersome for guests who prefer to sleep with their door open, potentially affecting their sleep quality. If possible, it would be beneficial for the hotel or university to improve this setup, perhaps by adjusting the light’s brightness or shortening the time before it turns off, to enhance the overall stay experience."
