Here the rumble of the mountain like its a distant thunder storm. The kids will show you around with great enthusiasm. "My sister & I stayed 4 nights here! 😍 We loved that… it was great value for money,… there’s a shop downstairs that opened 7 days till late… The location was awesome, right next to DMC, Vailoa, (the best fried chicken franchise on the island 😋)… the twin room was clean, and spacious with 2 x twin beds, sofa lounge, a balcony with clothes airer, a wardrobe, massive shower with hot water, toiletries & towels, kitchen sink with utilities, Tea/Coffee facilities, Aircon & free WiFi…and… The host, (Teresa), was very friendly & welcoming, always willing & present to help out when needed. 😃"

The only issue, was the accommodation is upstairs and carrying heavy luggage upstairs was a little challenging, otherwise, it was excellent value for money. 👍

"Very cozy place owned by an incredibly friendly and welcoming family. Breakfast was included in the price and it was always absolutely delicious — thanks to them, I had the chance to try several traditional Sri Lankan dishes I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. Whenever I needed anything, they were quick to help and always took care of everything with a smile. Their hospitality truly made my stay feel special and comfortable. Thank you once again for such a warm and memorable experience!"

The place is located a bit farther from the main areas, so you’ll need to walk a few kilometers, take a tuk-tuk, or have your own vehicle. However, there is a small convenience shop right next to the accommodation, which is handy if you need anything. If you’re sensitive to noise at night, it might be an issue — though that’s quite common for most hostels and village houses in Sri Lanka.

No good option to walk to beach as main road is busy and no bike lane. Small windows don’t let one feel/see the nice area/surrounding.

Missed an on-site restaurant and had to drive almost six kms away for decent breakfast. The Wifi could be better. The approach road is accessible only by a off roader 4x4.

Weird smell coming from the kitchen cupboards under the sink.

The single bed was not comfortable (on one side I was feeling that I was sinking). The A/C wasn't working because the remote control was missing. I contacted the host, he said that he will take care of it, but he did not. To be honest, it wasn't so hot and for most days I did not need the A/C. However, for the last few days of my stay I could really use the A/C, especially at night. The shared fridge could be cleaner. The bathroom did not have a window, it only had a kind of fan on the ceiling which did not work particularly well. As a result, some unpleasant odors persisted and the waters caused by showering could not evaporate very quickly.
